WHAT IS ‘TEETH IN A DAY’?

This procedure replaces all of your natural teeth with an implant-supported denture. Typically, the denture (upper or lower) is attached to four dental implants. This denture is non-removable. Only your oral surgeon or dentist can remove the denture.

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR TEETH IN A DAY?

The Teeth-in-a-Day procedure is for patients who:

1. Have unstable or ill-fitting dentures
2. Want something that is not removable
3. Want a long-term solution to their dental needs
4. Want a more stable occlusion for eating and speaking

HOW LONG DOES THE TEETH-IN-A-DAY TREATMENT TAKE?

The actual Teeth-in-a-Day procedure takes one day. This includes:

(1) removing any remaining teeth in the arch,

(2) placing four or more dental implants per arch,

(3) placing abutments and copings onto the implants, and

(4) affixing a palateless upper or lower denture onto the implants/abutments.

Note that additional pre-surgery appointments may be required to assess your mouth and plan your treatment. In addition, we will schedule you for one or more follow-up appointments to check your healing.

IS THIS PROCEDURE PAINFUL?

Although you might think that having four dental implants placed would hurt, few of our implant patients complain of excessive pain. Most take pain medications for the first few days after surgery only. The number and difficulty of extractions prior to implant placement can affect your pain experience.
